Hace nada descubrí un "big tune" ... ;p (jjj madein:Revo.Bros) lamado "none shall escape the judgement" en un recopilatorio the trojan roots, (creo) y ponía que la cantaba Jhony Clarke, y frikeando he descubierto que es originaria del no menos gran Earl Zero.

The Great and Live Legend BARRINGTON LEVY
Nacido el 30 de abril de 1964, en el oeste de Kingston, Jamaica, Levy pasó sus años en la ciudad de Waterhouse y en Clarendon.Influenciado en su juventud por esos músicos de reggae local como Dennis Brown, Levy fue también inspirado por artistas como los Jackson 5.
En la adolescencia, Levy y su primo Everton Dacres formaron un duo musical llamado Mighty Multitude, de donde surgió el tema "My black Girl", en 1975.
Levy publicó su debut en solitario con el single, "A Long Time Since We Don't Have No Love," en 1978.
A finales de la decada, comienzos de los 80, Barrington se hizo conocido por su voz directa, fuerte, optimista y peculiar. Abrazado por Junjo Lawes, uno de los productores importantes de la época, en 1979, Levy grabó el sencillo "Ah Yah We Deh" del cual las ventas fueron bastante respetables, estableciendo asi un precedente para su futuro éxito.
Publico muchos singles hasta llegar a crear su primer album "Englisman", publicado por el sello Nyam Up en 1979. Su segundo album, sin embargo "Robin Hood" fue publicado en 1980 por el mitico sello Ingles Greensleeves. (para los mios, jeje, decir que este sello ha publicado en 1997 los dos primeros albumes de Levy, como dobles albums)
Teniendo a J. Lawes a cargo de la producción de sus obras, Levy grabó éxitos tras éxitos en el mitiquisimo estudio Channel One con la banda All-Stars (más tarde conocida comoRoots Radics), Pero la fama y conocimiento mundial le llegaron con el hit "Collie Weed" el primero de una serie de super éxitos que incluyó "Shine Eye Gal" y "Money Mover".
En la decada de los 80 fue Alvin Ranglin quien se unió al equipo de producción de Levy, ontribuyendo a los éxitos "Never Tear My Love Aparte" y "Made Me So Happy". En 1980 y 10981 apareció en el mundialmente conocido Sunsplash Festival, mientras continuaba creando grandes éxitos como "Mary Long Tongue," "Too Poor," y "I Have a Problem." Durante esta época es cuando comienza a ser "importante" publicando unos cuatro albums.
Cuando Levy hizó su debut en el Reino Unido, fue reconocido como el Mejor Vocalista en los British Reggae Industry Awards. Más adelante se unío a Levy el productor Jah Screw , lo que produjo la creación de dos de sus mayores éxitos "Under Mi Sensi," y "Here I Come".
A finales de esta década Barrington viaja por América del Norte y el Reino Unido (continuará.... )

Para difrute personal y del que guste un video en directo del gran Barrington Levy, cantando para mi, uno de sus grandes temas Black Roses, y encima hace alusión al gran Dennis Brown , puesto que la canción de Levy "Black Roses" lleva el mismo riddim que la canción de Dennis B. "Revolution", (trate de poner tambien el video de la cancion "While your gone" para mi otro de los temazos de Levy, pero incapaz de encontrarlo, so alguien lo tiene, ya sebe, me hara mu mu feliz, jeje)

Roots Reggae Singer, HORACE ANDY "Natty Dread A Weh She Want"
Horace Hinds nació el 19 de febrero de 1951 en Kingston, Jamaica. Más conocido como HORACE ANDY, modificó su nombre por dor razones: por no ser confundido con su primo, Justin Hinds, un famoso cantante de la época y en homenaje al mitiquísimo Bob Andy.
La peculiar voz de Horace le ha servido de indiscutile caracteristica, siendo una de las voces en falsete más conocidas de la escena musical.
Grabó su primer single con sólo 16 años, pero no obtuvo ningún éxito. Se presentó a las pruebas del mítico StudioOne de Clément Dodd, que finalmente le contrató, en una segunda audición, al presentar un tema propio. Su primer single fue Something on my mind, pero el tema con el que alcanza la popularidad es Skylarking.
Fuera de Studio One, trabaja con artistas como Derrik Harriot (con el que graba el gran éxito Lonely woman, uno de sus clásicos, Y Una De Mis FAVORITAS!! ;p), Phil Pratt (para la posteridad queda Tag along), Dennis Brown (Reggae superstars como tema más emblemático), Patrick Andy (el inolvidable Clash of the Andys), Bill Sherman o John Holt, entre otros.
Famoso y podriamos decir casi mundialmente conocido en el panorama reggae, en uno de sus muchos viajes a yankilandia y a yankipijolandia (londres) jejeje (sin animo de ofensa, ) conoce al grupo Massive Attack, uno de los referentes del trip-hop, participando en Blues Lines y en Protection (1994), siendo lo que le proporciona a horace una nueva generación de oyentes y lo hace más conocido todavía.
A día de hoy Horace Andy sigue sonando en muchos sitios y nos sigue deleitando con conciertos increiblemente increibles, como ejemplo este video grabado en verano en la playa en un concierto que nos ofreció, fijarse en la pantalla del escenario....

"She Loves The Natty Dreads" DON CARLOS
Don Carlos, nació como Euvin Spencer, en el oeste de Jamaica en Waterhouse. Comenzó a cantar en 1973 como miembro del ya mitico grupo BLACK UHURU. Tras un tiempo, encontró su estilo como solista en 1981. A partir de aquí, su fama creció, llegando a publicar hasta 12 albumes.Algunos de los más famosos y sonados son: Harvest Time, Day to Day Living and Them Never Know a Natty Dread.
Su mayor auge fue en la decada de los 80, donde su música cobró notable éxito en las pistas de baile. A día de hoy sigue cosechando nuevos hits y srprendiéndonos con impresionantes directos.
Hay va un video, para mi de una de sus mejores canciones en directo, en el Festival de Sierra Nevada.
